MIDRT Australia 2026

MIDRT brings together military and allied teams to compete in high-speed FPV racing, building connection and technical capability through shared competition and STEM engagement.
Eligibility
- Current serving member of their nation’s regular or reserve armed forces
- Cadet category (under 18) runs in parallel
- Veterans/Industry may form an Open category (capacity dependent)
Team Composition
- Teams consist of 4 pilots (fewer can race, but 4 required for team score)
- Teams can be single-service or combined service
- Roster locked once competition starts (except illness/exceptional cases)

- 5-inch quad, max 330mm motor-to-motor
- Max weight: 1kg
- VTX: 5.8GHz, max 25mW
- RF link: 2.4GHz / 915MHz, max 100mW

- 1300 Test flights / scrutineering / registration

- Group 1: Qualifying racing (AM) + tactical practice (PM)
- Group 2: Tactical practice (AM) + qualifying (PM)
- Coach transfer between RWB and RAAFMAC
Fri 13 Mar
- Group 1: Tactical competition (AM) + qualifying (PM)
- Group 2: Qualifying racing (AM) + tactical competition (PM)
- Coach transfer between RWB and RAAFMAC
Sat 14 Mar
- 0830–1000 Last chance qualifying (Group 1 then Group 2)
- 1000–1230 Heats + team endurance
- 1330–1545 Finals (format depends on pilot numbers)
- 1600–1630 Presentations
- 1900 Social function
